Annual Flora School Days

Post  mobil on Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:11 am

This tiny community situated 35 miles north of Enterprise has been considered a ghost town. But last Saturday the unincorporated community was a-buzz with visitors to the annual Flora School Days celebration of pioneer arts. A fairly stiff breeze mixed the aroma of corn bread muffins baking in a wood-fired kitchen range with the pungent smell of coke burning in the blacksmith’s forge. This gathering of artisans and crafters in the spring each year brings visitors from far and wide to see, learn and try the skills practiced everyday by our ancestors.
